Nats Win! Nats Win!

So the Washington Nationals have been on a heck of a losing streak -pretty much all season. I decided to grab the tickets from work and take AJ to his first baseball game, even if they probably weren't going to win. Thursday night we left work early, grabbed AJ from daycare, then picked up Jampa Larry and headed into DC for the 4:35 pm game against the Cincinatti Reds.
It was the first night all week it didn't rain - AMEN - and the Nationals actually won - Double AMEN!! I will admit AJ had a major case of the wiggles and didn't sit still well.

Good thing our seats were only about 10 rows up from the home dugout on the first base line so when he took off running down the aisle he couldn't go far. The regulars in the first two rows quickly embraced AJ and his fidgity enthusiasm. He and I squatted in a couple of empty seats in the very first row. It wasn't long before all of our new seatmates decided AJ needed a game ball. They would take turns pointing to AJ and yelling down to the players and the bat boy trying to get them to throw a ball up. Didn't take two innings and they finaly complied, tossed a ball up over the dugout and right to us. AJ was so excited and our entire section clapped and cheered.

He proudly clutched his game ball and ran up to our regular seats to show his Daddy and Jampa, who were also clapping for him. He wanted to throw the ball and we explained that wasn't a good idea becuase it might get lost (or stolen!) so we had to wait until we got home to play catch. He turned around, looked at me and said "I want to go home now and play ball" and started to march up the aisle towards the exit.

AJ and I agree about baseball! But I bet he was cute clutching that ball.
