AJ loves county music. Way cute.
We turn CMT on sometimes on the weekend while I am cleaning. His favorite song on my ipod is Life is a Highway.
I played lots of Rascal Flats while AJ was in the womb. This is even more fun because it drives his Daddy nuts!

Sunday & Blueberry Muffins
After two days hanging with Daddy doing man stuff - running, wrestling and such while I was doing my Zeta stuff, AJ and I spent a lazy Sunday morning in jammies, baking blueberry muffins and watching country music videos. Nice morning, huh?! We did venture out before lunch for groceries and to vacuum out the car. AJ was a big help with getting the car floor mats all clean and putting quarters in the big vacuum at the gas station. We skipped the car wash since we knew the rain was coming and would be sticking around.
Our nice, slow Sunday included naps and ended with a frosty from Wendy's. AJ actually asks for Wendy's because he thinks that is what is in the cup, not that it is the place that makes the frosty. I'm working on that. He had only been once before but the smart cookie that he is, he remembered it and knew the he liked it enough to want another.

Cough Cough
AJ was in the pantry and came out carrying a bottle of Pedialyte. Now those who have been around AJ when he isn't feeling well and needs Pedialyte know that we call it "juice". Trust me our re-branding trick gets more in him.
Anyway, he came out with it and asked for "juice". I explained that we only drink that juice when he is sick. He thought for a minute and then said "I am sick mommy". I kind of expected that but what I didn't expect was the pause after and then him saying "I need juice, I'm sick mommy - hack hack hack" You know - that fake cough when you call in sick, yeah he did that and covered his mouth. I just about fell over laughing and he started giggling too.
Holy smart little man.

Little Gym Party
Last weekend AJ was invited to a school friend's 4th birthday party at the Little Gym in Ashburn. It is exactly what it sounds like, a place with lots of padding and equipment sized for little people. The kids loved it and just watching AJ made me tired!
Here is AJ swinging on the rings and the birthday boy Tyler hanging on the uneven bars. AJ had fun with the noodle pretending to be a unicorn and then hoped off the bar with Lindsey, the birthday boys cute little sister.

Easter North of the Potomac
We joined Aunt Bridget, Uncle Jim and Abigail in MD for a fun Easter brunch and egg hunt. Of course the Easter Bunny left a basket for AJ and hid eggs in MD too. AJ had a great time.
AJ was part of the way through the hunt when he realized there were toys in the plastic eggs. Once he made that discovery he wanted to get all the toys out while he hunted, which made grabbing the rest of the eggs without dropping his haul a bit tricky.
Note the new Thomas Train boots he is sporting while searching for eggs. They were in his basket along with a matching rain jacket.
Perhaps the highlight of the day was getting to crash all the cars that had been lined up for his crashing pleasure. As quick as someone got them lined up, he was there to wreck them. Silly little man.

AJ the Bunny Lizard
This morning AJ ate his breakfast wearing his fuzzy blue bunny ears - soooo cute! After breakfast he laid on the bench and was being silly, pretending to be a lizard, sticking out his tongue. When I downloaded the Easter pics, these made me laugh out loud. Enjoy!
Leesburg Easter Egg Hunt
The weather got warm(ish) and the wind let up just enough for us to head out to Leesburg for the annual Easter egg hunt last weekend. Consider it a warm up for the real deal complete with moon bounce and 10,000 eggs. They control the chaos somewhat by sorting the field into age groups. AJ was well coached to dive for as many as eggs as he could and was quite proud of his haul.

Babci's 90th Birthday
Catching You Up
Since I did neglect the blog in March a few updates and stories so you don't feel like you missed out.
AJ is now successfully sleeping in the big boy twin bed every night. Most nights he stays put and only occasionally gets out of bed right after being tucked in to request water or some other delay tactic. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well he transitioned.
Speaking of transitions, AJ is taking the low key approach to potty training. He wears the pull ups now and likes to sit on the toilet. He really likes it when he actually does something on the toilet because he gets an M&M candy! He gets to use the potty at school too so I think very soon now we'll get up the nerve (mostly me not him!) to leap into regular underwear. More to come.
As some of you heard a couple of weeks back AJ made another discovery - he could shove things up his nose. This isn't funny until you are Mommy and you get a call at 12:30 on April 1st from daycare. Reports are he shoved a meatbal - yes a meatball - up his left nostril and they can't get it out. He is very comfortable. So an exasperated Mommy hangs up the phone and starts to prepare to go rescuse him. I will admit at this point I was annoyed to have been interupted on a busy day at work for something that could have been avoided. As I typed the note to my boss to tell him why I had to leave suddenly, I was struck by how silly "My son shoved a meatball up his nose" sounded. It was equally as funny when I called his Gramma and had to tell the lady at the ER why he was there. I giggled most of the afternoon. Turns out my boss, who was at a conference with many of our industry colleagues, also saw the humor and shared it with many in Colorado. AJ provided comic relief for many that day all across the country. (oh, they confirmed in the ER that he had swallowed the meatball - YUM!)
I think that is the big stuff :-)
